OH, BOTHER

The filmmakers behind the small-budget horror Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey and its sequel, which is coming to theaters this month, are returning with an even more eyebrow raising concept: the “Poohniverse.” The Winnie the Pooh horror filmmakers are bringing more childhood favorite characters to the dark side, namely Bambi, Tinkerbell, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tigger, Piglet, The Mad Hatter, and Sleeping Beauty. They’ll feature in standalone films premiering throughout this year, before they’ll appear together in a crossover extravaganza called Poohniverse: Monsters Assemble. The horror movie versions of the characters won’t just antagonize survivors from the first film, producer Scott Chambers tells Variety; there will also be “carnage within the group” and “epic sequences of monster vs. monster.” A-la Avengers, the “Poohniverse” will have Easter eggs that connect each of the films to one another and Monsters Assemble.
