Once again, the world’s oldest person has died. Kama Chinen of Okinawa, Japan, passed a week before her 115th birthday. Born in 1895, Chinen lived through three different centuries. As a Japanese centenarian, she was in good company: At last count, the country had over 40,000 people who are more than 100 years old. The title of world’s oldest person now belongs to 114-year-old Eugenie Blanchard of France.
