Wright Restaurant Opens at Guggenheim

Guggenheim Museum visitors no longer have to ration out time for eating with the opening of Wright this week, featuring food from Rodolfo Contreras, previously from New York's Bouley and Town. Like the modern-art museum itself, the eatery will offer a host of options, with a focus on “seasonal, local, and sustainable” ingredients, the Guggenheim touts. Small snacks will be available at the bar while more substantial plates will be served at an extensive blue leather banquette across from stark white chairs. The 16,000-square-foot curvilinear space, created by Andre Kikoski, features a wall of walnut with fiber-optic lights and its own “site-specific sculpture.” British artist Liam Gillick created the work entitled, The horizon produced by a factory once it had stopped producing views. Hungry museum goers can catch a view and a bite for lunch and brunch beginning Friday, while dinner will have to wait until next month.
