Could it be that, in the face of a Newt Gingrich nomination, the Wall Street Journal editorial page is finally warming up to Mitt Romney? In an editorial today, the paper says Romney’s entitlement-reform plan is actually pretty bold—especially compared with that of the current frontrunner, Newt Gingrich. On Medicare, for example, Newt’s plan “is merely a gloss on Medicare Advantage,” giving people the option of receiving benefits through private insurance without any incentive to do so. “Mr. Gingrich tells everyone they're radical. He might achieve more if he spoke more softly and carried a bigger stick.”
