HBO announced on Monday that it has ordered 10 episodes of a new late-night docu-series hosted by Wyatt Cenac and produced by Last Week Tonight host John Oliver to premiere next spring. The show will “take a satirical look at social and cultural issues from Cenac’s unique perspective,” according to a press release. “Rather than sit behind a desk, he will undertake a journey to understand some of the big issues of the moment and investigate real-world solutions.” Cenac, who appeared alongside Oliver as a Daily Show correspondent from 2008-2012, will also executive produce the still-untitled show with OJ: Made in America director Ezra Edelman and former Daily Show alum Hallie Haglund, who will serve as head writer.
