Rappers Young Thug and Birdman were part of a conspiracy to kill Lil Wayne, according to an indictment filed by Cobb County, Georgia, prosecutors stemming from the April shooting of Wayne’s tour bus. Birdman and Wayne co-founded a record label before falling out and Thug took Birdman’s side. The indictment says the April shooting was carried out by Jimmy Winfrey, a.k.a. Peewee Rosco, who called Thug right before the shooting and Birdman right after—implying that Thug and Birdman were masterminding the operation. The indictment also alleges that Young Thug’s “Halftime” song was about the shooting, but the song came out in March, predating Birdman’s falling out with Wayne. Neither Thug nor Birdman has been charged in relation to the crime.
