YouTube proved its power in the courtroom on Monday, when a California educator was charged with 16 counts of sexual abuse after a former student posted a video of herself phoning to confront the teacher, 40-year-old Andrea Cardosa. She was subsequently arrested on a $5 million warrant. Jaime Carrillo said in the video, which has now been watched more than a million times, that she was abused by her former basketball coach beginning when she was 12 and lasting until she was 20. A second alleged victim has since come forward, as well.
