Florida’s Democratic gubernatorial candidate, Andrew Gillum, hit back against President Trump late Monday after the president called him a “stone cold thief” in a Fox News interview. Trump had claimed Florida “will become Venezuela” if Gillum wins the election, telling Fox News’ Laura Ingraham that he is a “disaster” for the state. The president parroted corruption allegations against Gillum made by his Republican opponent, Ron DeSantis, who has accused Gillum of abusing his office to get free perks. Gillum quickly took to Twitter to dismiss the president’s criticism, however, telling voters to “ignore” him. He posted: “I heard @realDonaldTrump ran home to @FoxNews to lie about me. But as my grandmother told me—never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, but the pig likes it.”
