Subhi Nahas is a Syrian refugee who began his career as an advocate for women’s and children’s rights. He co-founded the first LGBTQ Syrian magazine, a support group for LGBT refugees in Turkey, and founded the Spectra Project in the United States, which aims to protect LGBT refugees in countries of transit, and offers them access to education, legal counseling and emergency support.
