Tara Chandra is a Ph.D. Candidate in Political Science at UC Berkeley, where her research focuses on the intersection of gender and international security. Tara's research also addresses broader theories of insurgency and counterinsurgency, and the causes and consequences of political violence more generally. She is also interested in other dimensions of gender and politics, including how women mobilize to advocate for particular political outcomes. Tara holds an M.A. in Global Affairs from Yale University’s Jackson School of Global Affairs, and a B.A. with Honors from the University of Chicago. In 2022-2023, she is also a USIP-Minerva Peace and Security Scholar.
