Victor S. Navasky is publisher emeritus of The Nation magazine, where he was editor from 1978 to 1995, and its publisher and editorial director from 1995 to 2005. He is the author of Naming Names, a winner of the 1982 National Book Award, A Matter of Opinion, and The Art of Controversy. He is a professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
