Michael Cohen is set to publicly accuse Donald Trump of carrying out criminal activity while in office, the first time he has made that allegation, The Wall Street Journal reports. Cohen, who’s set to appear Wednesday before the House Oversight Committee, will reportedly make the accusation in relation to a hush-money payment to a porn star Stormy Daniels. Cohen is also believed to be planning to make public some of Trump’s private financial statements and allege that the president inflates or deflates his net worth for business and personal purposes, including by avoiding paying property taxes. Cohen is expected to recount racist remarks Trump allegedly made to him, including when Trump allegedly questioned the intelligence of black Americans and criticized their lifestyle choices. The newspaper’s source said Cohen’s testimony would provide “evidence of criminal conduct since Mr. Trump became president,” but didn’t offer details beyond saying it was related to the Stormy Daniels payment.
