Democrat Steve Stern won his race in New York’s 10th Assembly District on Tuesday night, a Long Island district that had been in the hands of Republicans for more than three decades. It is the 40th legislative flip since President Trump’s inauguration, as Democrats continue to make gains in local and congressional races. Hillary Clinton won the seat 52-45 in 2016, and President Obama won it 51-48 in 2012.
