The Democratic Socialists of America said in a release on Tuesday night that the organization had voted "overwhelmingly" to support Sen. Bernie Sanders' (I-VT) second bid for the White House. The poll received responses from 13,324 DSA members, with 76% voting yes and 24% voting no. Though, that was only 24% of eligible membership that participated in the poll. Next, the National Political Committee will meet to further consider the poll and vote on endorsement, the group said. In 2016, DSA endorsed Sanders and subsequently ballooned in its membership size, culminating in the election of younger self-declared Democratic Socialists like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY). —Gideon Resnick
