As Michael Cohen testified on Capitol Hill, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) wrote in a Medium post that she was pledging not to issue any pardons to any individuals involved in investigations pertaining to President Trump should she be elected president in 2020. “So let me be perfectly clear, in the way that everyone who might be President next should be: If I’m elected President of the United States, there will be no pardons for anyone implicated in these investigations,” she wrote. That, Warren added, includes “no pardon or commutation for Donald Trump himself.” Warren also called on anyone who succeeds Trump to follow this mandate as well, “starting with Vice President Mike Pence.”
