Bryan Singer—who was fired as director of Bohemian Rhapsody over unexplained absences from the set—has posted his thanks on Instagram after his former colleagues didn’t mention him during their acceptance speeches at the Golden Globes. The film’s star, Rami Malek, picked up the best actor in a drama award, and producer Graham King received the best film (drama) trophy. Singer—who, despite his firing, was credited as the film’s director due to Directors Guild of America rules—responded to the snub with a post on Instagram showing a photo of Malek filming the “I Want to Break Free” scene with a simple caption: “What an honor. Thank you #HollywoodForeignPress.” Singer was replaced by Dexter Fletcher as director after his firing in December 2017. His absences from the set were explained away as “a personal health matter” and “unexpected availability.”
