A Russian propaganda account purporting to be run by two African-American video bloggers named “Williams and Kalvin” was taken down by YouTube on Monday. The takedown comes hours after a The Daily Beast report revealed Williams and Kalvin’s Facebook and Twitter pages were pulled in August due to their ties to the Kremlin’s propaganda arm. The account was “terminated for violating YouTube’s Community Guidelines,” according to a notice posted on the page. Williams and Kalvin’s videos mostly spouted Russian talking points and inflammatory conspiracy theories about the Clintons, including accusations of Bill Clinton hiding a secret love child. Google, which owns YouTube, provided a statement to The Daily Beast last Wednesday, but did not respond to specific questions about the account.
