Rick Shaftan, a campaign consultant for Virginia’s Republican U.S. Senate candidate Corey Stewart, said in a recent Facebook post that the late Sen. John McCain is a “POS [piece of shit] even in death.” Shaftan posted a link to an article saying that the recently deceased senator’s 2008 vice-presidential pick Sarah Palin was not invited to attend the senior statesman’s funeral. “She was the only reason millions of Americans voted for this loser,” Shaftan continued. As The Daily Beast previously reported, Shaftan called majority-black cities “shitholes” in other social-media posts.
