Peter Farrelly, director of the Oscars-tipped movie Green Book, has apologized after old news articles reporting that he flashed his penis at Cameron Diaz and other colleagues were resurfaced. The Cut highlighted the two articles, both from 1998, that claimed Farrelly showed his penis to Diaz before she starred in his movie There’s Something About Mary and another incident when he reportedly flashed film executive Tom Rothman. “True. I was an idiot,” Farrelly told CNN. “I did this decades ago and I thought I was being funny and the truth is I’m embarrassed and it makes me cringe now. I’m deeply sorry.” Farrelly’s movie Green Book won the Golden Globe for best comedy or musical on Sunday. His other movie credits include Dumb and Dumber and Shallow Hal.
