Gregory Craig, who served as a White House counsel in the Obama administration, will be indicted in the coming days on charges related to his work for the pro-Russia government of Ukraine, according to the New York Times. The case against Craig, 74, originated from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. If Craig is charged, he'll become the first person linked to the Democrats to be charged in a case related to the special counsel’s investigation, and the first person to be charged after Mueller concluded his work last month. Craig's lawyers reportedly expect him to be charged with making false statements to the Justice Department officials about work he did for the Ukrainian president in 2012. The work was linked to Paul Manafort, who was representing then-president Viktor Yanukovychwho as a political consultant at the time. Manafort, who became Trump’s campaign chairman during the 2016 election, was sentenced last month to seven and a half years in prison.
