Kate Middleton Makes Somber Appearance in Return to Royal Duties

REMEMBRANCE DAY

Kate Middleton’s appearance at the Cenotaph in London Sunday morning was another sign of her return to public life following the completion of chemotherapy treatment.

Kate Middleton’s busy Remembrance Day weekend continued Sunday with an appearance at the Cenotaph war memorial in London at the somber annual event marking the service of deceased British veterans. Kate, who announced the completion of her cancer-related chemotherapy treatment in September, stood on the central balcony of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (alongside Duchess Sophie, Prince Edward’s wife), as husband Prince William participated in the ceremony. Kate also appeared alongside William, King Charles III and other royals—including Princess Anne—at the Festival of Remembrance at Royal Albert Hall in London on Saturday night. Queen Camilla, suffering from a “seasonal chest infection” (as Buckingham Palace put it), was not at either event. Kate’s appearances signal an intended return to greater public visibility.
