LeBron James has made no secret of the fact that he feels like he’s been chasing Michael Jordan’s “ghost” throughout his career—and now he’s taken a leap forward in his personal mission to be considered the NBA’s greatest of all time. LeBron finally passed Jordan in career scoring during the Lakers’ Wednesday night defeat by the Denver Nuggets. James, 34, netted 31 points against the Nuggets, bringing his total to 32,311 points, passing Jordan’s tally of 32,292. Now, only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, and Kobe Bryant rank ahead of LeBron in career points. LeBron posted before the game: “Can’t even front. This is going to be UNREAL!! Wow man.” His shoes for the game had a message for Jordan that said: “Thank you M.J.”
