“Next week, the 9 a.m. hour will be hosted by other TODAY co-anchors,” a spokesperson stated.

An NBC News spokesperson confirmed Friday afternoon that Megyn Kelly’s Today show hour has been canceled. “Megyn Kelly Today is not returning,” the spokesperson wrote in a statement. “Next week, the 9 a.m. hour will be hosted by other TODAY co-anchors.” NBC News reported earlier that Kelly was “in talks with the network about her imminent departure.” Citing “a source close to the situation,” and other “sources,” NBC reporter Morgan Radford said during Friday’s edition of the Today show that, “Conversations have already started about Megyn’s exit, the exact details of which remain unclear at this point.” A major outstanding question was “what happens to Kelly’s $69 million, 3-year contract.” Radford’s report also featured the trajectory of dramatic events of the week, after Kelly made her now-notorious “blackface” remarks on her 9am show, including her on-air apology, NBC News chief Andrew Lack's condemning of Kelly’s remarks, and the mixed online reaction, with those supporting NBC’s actions and others supporting Kelly.
