Opening Ceremony made their New York Fashion Week runway debut in an abandoned warehouse on the Hudson River on Sunday night. The space was massive and industrial, leaving show-goers wondering what runway path models would take to enter. Little would we know that as opposed to opening the show by walking, designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon would send their models onto the runway in sleek sports cars. Welcome to The Fast and the Furious -- fashion week edition.

The front row quickly crowded with all the cool kids: Rihanna (whose posse ended up taking my show seat), Justin Bieber (clad in an over-sized hat and shades; also rolling very deep), Orange is the New Black star (and a frequent face this fashion week) Natasha Lyonne, R&B singer Miguel, Rashida Jones, and Jason Schwartzman.

And then the show kicked off, with revving engines of Jaguars, BMWs, and Range Rovers all carrying models clad in the brand's Spring/Summer 2014 collection. As they emerged one by one from the car doors, the clothes paid homage to "Carol's Korean background," the "street racing culture" of Los Angeles, and ultimately, of course, a "love letter to New York," where Opening Ceremony was created.

The fabrics were bright and printed, with an array of blues, reds, and greens stomping down the runway. There were flirty dresses, oversized neoprene sweatshirts and tunics, and leather jackets. And then, as if nothing else could surprise, after what seemed like the final show moments, every girl's dream came true: an army of male models emerged. Clad in graphic-printed sweatshirts, loose shorts, and futuristic-style blazers, they paraded around the runway.

Immediately following the show, the brand's after-party kicked off in the same, urban venue, Superpier, also the location of Opening Ceremony's week-long pop-up market. Between samplings of Asia Dogs, free male pleasure toys, and a Rihanna hanging at the bar, OC's fashion week debut was quite the Sunday night spectacle.
