Pete Buttigiegâs campaign announced Monday itâs raised more than $7 million since launching an exploratory committee in January. The little-known mayor from South Bend, Indiana, has been raising his profile with a number of well-received media appearances in recent weeks, including a CNN town-hall event and a segment on MSNBCâs Morning Joe. Heâs already made history as the first gay candidate to qualify for a major-party primary debate. In an email to supporters, the campaign said: âThis is just a preliminary analysis, but our teamâs initial report shows we raised over $7 million in Q1 of this year. We (you) are out-performing expectations at every turn. Iâll have a more complete analysis later, but until then: a big thank you to all our supporters.â
