Serena Williams turned heads Tuesday at the Australian Open in Melbourne, where she donned a bright green Nike jumpsuit paired with fishnet stockings. The eye-catching ensemble may be in response to controversial restrictions placed on Williams’ wardrobe by another major tournament. Last year, French Open officials banned Williams from wearing her iconic Nike catsuit at the tournament. The sports gear behemoth supported the 23-time Grand Slam winner at the time, tweeting: “You can take the superhero out of her costume, but you can’t take away her superpowers.” Williams’ new suit suggests she’s not shying away from her critics. She sailed through her first-round match against Germany’s Tatjana Maria in just 49 minutes.
