Maybe it’s his down-to-earth charm or hipster style, but Ryan Gosling has proven to be perfect meme material. In this newest comparison, Gosling challenges adorable puppies in a side-by-side showdown. And he actually gives puppies a run for their money. Which is saying a lot, because nothing is cuter than puppies (well, almost nothing).

If you think meerkats weren’t affected by the Great Depression of the '30s, think again. A meerkat was right there waiting in line with the other children to get her medicine from the nurse, and asking the teacher for help with his homework. Er, at least that’s what the photos look like in this meerkat-child infusion gallery.

The devil gets a bad rap these days, but does the guy really deserve it? Here he challenges common misperceptions that have plagued his reputation for thousands of years. Martini in hand, Lucifer points out that he was made so God could look better and discrimination isn’t really fair because he’s just trying to “free the captives of a narcissistic overlord.” Tough break, Satan.

From a Winnie the Pooh pup to a Batman cat, no animal was spared in this latest costumed pet roundup. These are by far the most elaborate of the slideshows flooding the Web in anticipation of Halloween weekend.

It all makes sense now: the only way to avoid police brutality is to show up at a protest fully armed, as this photo gallery clearly points out. Somehow, despite hundreds of gun-toting Tea Partiers turning out en masse to anti-Obama rallies, police remained absent. One woman brought her bear gun and a preteen girl was armed with a holstered pistol. Someone should pass along this foolproof tip to Occupy Wall Street.

Planking quickly grew into a worldwide phenomenon, but now there’s a new spontaneous position threatening to edge it off its pedestal. Named after Tim Tebow, the religious Denver Broncos quarterback, who recently dropped to pray after a major win, Tebowing has taken the country by storm. The knee-to-ground, fist-to-forehead pose has inspired copycats, from firemen to little kids, who are practicing the look in every imaginable location.

A new meme has turned a well-meaning campaign fighting racial stereotypes into a hilarious photo slideshow fighting Halloween costume stereotypes. The words “We’re a culture not a costume. This is not who I am and this is not OK” are stamped behind the real Dracula holding a picture of a costume-clad impostor. A slide later, a dog laments his personal identity being turned into a furry costume for little kids.

Next time you’re down on your luck at the bars, try out some of these incredibly bad pick-up lines. “If I followed you home, would you call the cops?” probably won’t be rewarded with a phone number, but at least it will make for some entertainment. Don’t feel bad; “Baby, I put the STD in stud” didn’t work for the slumped-over panda either.

If Kayne narrated Saved by the Bell, it might have looked something like this. Some inventive bloggers put Kayne’s lyrics over frozen scenes from the '80s sitcom, overlaying, “He just took my old bitch and turned it to his new bitch,” onto a picture of two of the young male stars shaking hands over a girl. Now just imagine if Kanye had his heyday in the '80s, complete with a colorful cable-knit sweater.

Steve Jobs’s legacy is all around, not just because of the popularity of the iPhone, but also because of the recent release of his highly anticipated biography. Watch out Android users, the late Apple founder could be spying on you without you knowing it. From plant holders to stuffed animal displays, Jobs’s watchful gaze peering out from the new book’s cover is where you least suspect it.

Sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between Halloween costumes and just regular outfits, especially if you live somewhere as eccentric as New York City. A new blog makes this confusion into a super fun game called “Halloween or Williamsburg,” referring to the hippest Brooklyn borough with the most unusually dressed locals. If this is what they normally wear, we can’t wait to see their Halloween costumes.
