A former University of California Berkeley student has accused the college’s football team and coaches of sexual harassment, the San Francisco Chronicle reports. The woman, who said she worked last season for the team’s sports-medicine unit, claims an unnamed coach told her: “I will get you fired if you do not have sex with me.” In a Facebook post, she wrote about an alleged incident with the same coach: “I was under the influence, and not legally in a state of mind to be consenting to sex. He snuck me into his office... and he immediately grabbed for my waist. I was terrified, my mind was fuzzy, and I do not remember much from that night. He kept kissing me, pushing me against the wall, and I left.” She says she was also cornered in the tunnel and sent “creepy” messages, and that she’s now receiving “intensive therapy and psychiatry for the post traumatic stress syndrome and anxiety” suffered after the alleged verbal and physically harassment. UC Berkeley’s athletic department has referred the allegations to the campus’ Office for Prevention of Harassment and Discrimination.
