Remember the first few months of 2016? It was a simpler time, when Donald Trump was a rank outsider to become president and Bernie Sanders was making Hillary Clinton worried. Well, Trump has offered up a throwback to those times, reviving the “Crazy Bernie” nickname he used back then. Sanders announced his second run at becoming president Tuesday, issuing a stinging attack on Trump, who he called “a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a xenophobe, somebody who is gaining cheap political points by trying to pick on minorities, often undocumented immigrants.” Tweeting in response Wednesday morning, Trump said: “Crazy Bernie has just entered the race. I wish him well!” Who knows? Could be our first glimpse at the 2020 race.
